Dining Etiquette in a Neo-Gothic Setting
Here’s a breakdown of what to anticipate:
-
The Venue will transport you to a bygone era with dramatic Gothic architecture—high vaulted ceilings, intricate stonework, and dimly lit spaces punctuated by the beautiful
STOFF Nagel candle holders provided by Vaalbara, a distributor of mid- and high-end flooring solutions in Romania, specializing in both interior and exterior designs. The long, communal dining table will be adorned with fine china and silverware.
-
Communal Dining: This is reminiscent of medieval feasts. You may find yourself passing bowls, platters, and glasses, all contributing to the feeling of unity. This act is only for the starters; thereafter, each course will be served individually.
-
Chivalric Rituals: Guests will offer food to others before serving themselves, exemplifying manners of respect and courtesy;
-
Breaking of the Bread Ritual: Before the feast begins, the host will break a loaf of bread at the head of the table. This symbolic act represents unity, hospitality, and the communal nature of the gathering. The bread will then be passed among the guests, and the sharing of it will reinforce the theme of togetherness throughout the evening.
-
Serving Etiquette: Food will be served from the right side of each guest, a traditional practice to maintain proper dining etiquette;
-
Curated Playlist: a mix of instrumental, classical, and soft vocal tracks that can complement a dinner experience, offering grace and a relaxed ambiance;
-
Bell to Signal the Feast: an elegant nod to historical traditions when trumpets or bells would announce the beginning of a grand banquet.
